Join the Drumline

Are your youth interested in playing drums and percussion instruments? Then this new Club opportunity may be the perfect opportunity for them! Music can be a powerful and positive lifelong influence on individuals of all ages. It can serve as a means of expression, entertainment, physical activity, as well as cognitive and social development.

The Drumline music club will teach kids how to play drums and other types of percussion throughout the year. There will even be opportunities to perform as youth become more experienced with the instruments. This program is made possible through a partnership with the Fox Valley Americanos Alumni.

Those who participate in the drumline will also receive free drumsticks and a drum practice kit to use as long as they are in the group.

Who can join?

At this time the Drumline is looking for approximately a dozen youth between the ages 11-16 to participate.

What’s the goal?

The Americanos educational pedagogy will focus on percussion skills development via rudiments,
note reading, and ensemble experiences. This first year will be a “non-performing” ensemble to develop a core group whereupon a second ensemble will be created the following year to be the “performing” ensemble. It would be our goal to perform at local events such as half times for basketball games, and limited public performance opportunities.
