Supporting a child or youth after the death of a family member or friend is the Center's mission. The Center for Grieving Children at the Boys & Girls Club of the Fox Valley, is a safe place for children, teens and their families to find compassionate peer support, engage in commemorative activities, gain information about the grieving process, and express feelings and experiences in an accepting environment.
Programing is provided at no charge to children, ages 3 - 18, and the adults who care for them. See the Family Night and Teen pages for monthly schedules.
Guiding Principles of the Center:
- Grief is a natural response to change and loss.
- Each person's grief is unique.
- A caring, accepting environment enhances the sharing process.
- All cultural and spiritual beliefs are to be honored.
Trained volunteers are at the heart of our program. Contact the Director if you would like to be a part of this community service.
