Youth on the Move

National Runaway & Homeless Youth Prevention Month

November is National Runaway and Homeless Youth Prevention month. Home Base, a program of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley, in partnership with the Appleton Area School District, Appleton Public Library, the Appleton Police Department, the City of Appleton, House of Hope, Elisha D. Smith Public Library, and Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh seeks to raise awareness and provide services, support, and resources for young people in our community, with Youth on the Move.

Home Base is “shining a light” on this unseen population by illuminating the Houdini Plaza fountain and Jones Park in green this November. By painting green footprints in safe support places in the community, Home Base hopes to show youth that when they walk, they are not walking alone, but alongside their community.  Look for yard signs and flyers near the green footprints to learn more about this vulnerable population in need of support.
