Anonymous $1.4M Gift Fuels STEM & Workforce Readiness Expansion for Youth

We are proud to announce a transformative expansion of our STEM and Workforce Readiness initiatives, made possible by a generous anonymous donation of $1.4 million.

This deeply impactful gift reflects a profound belief in the power of education and opportunity. This investment will empower over 4,000 youth annually within three years, providing hands-on, experiential learning and career exploration opportunities across Appleton, Menasha, and Neenah.

“Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, we can reimagine what STEM and career readiness can look like for local youth. This investment allows us to create inclusive, inspiring spaces and programs that will help thousands of young people discover their potential and prepare to reach their full potential.”  – Greg Lemke-Rochon, CEO of BGCFV

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, STEM-related occupations are projected to grow by 8.1% through 2034—more than two-and-a-half times the rate of other fields—making early exposure and readiness more critical than ever.

This bold initiative will significantly enhance the Club’s capacity to prepare young people—especially those with unmet needs—for success in the 21st-century workforce and in life.

Highlights of the expansion include:

  • State-of-the-art Makers Labs at Club branch locations, designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and innovation. These labs offer inclusive, project-based learning for youth of all skill levels and backgrounds.
  • New and enhanced programming for youth, including immersive VR career simulations (Transfr Trek), robotics (VEX), coding, visits to post-secondary education campuses, and the Level All career readiness platform.
  • Dedicated STEM opportunities for girls, such as a week-long Girls STEM Summer Camp.
  • New staffing infrastructure, including a full-time STEM & Workforce Readiness Program Director and site-based coordinators to lead and sustain programming across Club locations.
  • Measurable outcomes, including increased daily participation, improved STEM interest and efficacy, and stronger post-secondary education and career aspirations.

This expansion underscores the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that every young person has access to the experiences, tools, and adult support they need to thrive.
