Stressing the importance of offering FREE nutritious meals to children during the summer months, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley is again participating in the Summer Food Service Program.
The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) provides FREE nutritious meals to children during the summer when free and reduced-price school meals are typically unavailable. It is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
Breakfast and lunch are available to all youth age 18 and under. Youth do NOT need to be Club members to be eligible for free meals. All children who could benefit from meals are welcome to stop by and enjoy breakfast and/or lunch on-site at the below Club locations.
When and Where Meals Are Available:
Boys & Girls Club of Menasha (600 Racine St., Menasha)
- Monday-Friday between 8-9 AM and 11:15 AM-12:45 PM.
- June 10th to August 15th, 2024 (no meals served June 28th, July 4th, 5th and July 26th)
Boys & Girls Club of Appleton (160 S. Badger Ave., Appleton)
- Monday-Friday between 8-9 AM and 11:30 AM-1 PM
- June 10th to August 15th, 2024 (no meals served June 28th, July 4th, 5th and July 26th)
The Boys & Girls Club of Manitowoc County (3651 Dewey St. Manitowoc)
- Monday-Thursday between 8 AM-9 AM and 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
- June 10th to August 15th, 2024 (no meals served July 4th, 5th and July 22nd)
Summer Food Service Meal Program Regulations:
- Free meals will be available to all children 18 and under. Persons over 18 who are determined by a state or local public educational agency to be mentally or physically disabled and participate in a public or private non-profit school program during the regular school year may also receive free meals.
- Meals must be eaten on-site (cannot be taken off-site).
- Youth do not need to be Club members to qualify for these meals.
- No registration is required for youth to receive meals through the Summer Food Service Program.
- Meals are provided to eligible children regardless of race, color, national origin, age, gender, or disability, and there will be no discrimination during meal service.
