Stressing the importance of offering nutritious meals to children during the summer months, our Clubs are once again supporting the Summer Food Service Program.
The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), which is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and is administered by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, provides nutritious meals to children during the summer, when free and reduced-price school meals are typically unavailable. Free meals will be made available to children 18 years of age and under.
Where to go to access free meals this summer:
Boys & Girls Club of Appleton (160 S. Badger Ave, Appleton):
- June 5th to August 17th, 2023 (no meals served June 23rd, July 3rd, 4th, and 21st)
- Monday-Friday
- 8-9 AM and 11 AM-1 PM
Boys & Girls Club of Menasha (600 Racine Street, Menasha):
- June 5th to August 17th, 2023 (no meals served June 23rd, July 3rd, 4th, and 21st)
- Monday-Friday
- 8-9 AM and 11:15 AM-12:45 PM
Boys & Girls Club of Manitowoc County (3651 Dewey St, Manitowoc):
- June 12th to August 11th, 2023 (no meals served on July 3rd, 4th, and 24th)
- Monday-Thursday
- 8-9 AM and 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Summer Food Service Meal Program Regulations:
- Free meals will be made available to all children 18 years of age and under. Persons over 18 years of age who are determined by a state or local public educational agency to be mentally or physically disabled and who also participate in a public or private non-profit school program during the regular school year may receive free meals as well.
- Meals must be eaten on site.
- Youth do not need to be Club members to qualify for these meals.
- No registration is required for youth to receive meals through the Summer Food Service Program.
- Meals are provided to eligible children regardless of race, color, national origin, age, gender or disability and there will be no discrimination in the course of meal service.
